TECNO Spark 5 Unboxing and First Impression

Earlier last month, TECNO Mobile announced the TECNO Spark 5 series as the successor to the Spark 4 series.

The Spark Series are known for their pocket-friendly price while still able to offer good specs.  We were able to get our hands on the vanilla Spark 5 and we will be showing you guys the device in its full glory here.

This is just the first impression, so expect a more detailed review of the device after we’ve tested it out for a few weeks.

The box housing the device is uniquely done compared to previous Spark devices. It comes in the regular rectangular box but in blue and yellow colours. You have the quality assurance tag, “Do not accept/buy the smartphone if the seal has been broken”

The other side view of the box shows some specs of the phone, the device name and the brand’s name are inscribed at the front.

As we unwrap the TECNO Spark 5, we’re greeted with the following items – the Spark 5 device, transparent case, earpiece, micro USB 2.0 cable, SIM ejector pin and a 10W standard charger.

This is the transparent case for the Spark 5. It protects the device from scratches, dirt and smudges.

The Spark 5 features a 3.5mm headphone jack and it comes with this well-designed earpiece.

The smartphone itself is wrapped with cellophane which contains the key specs of the device – 6.6″ Dot-in display, 13MP AI Quad camera with quad-LED flash, 5,000 mAh battery and 4G LTE.

The front view of the Spark 5 shows its 6.6″ IPS LCD display with curved edges. The display features an HD resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 266 PPI density.

The punch-hole camera sports an 8MP f/2.0 wide-angle lens. The device boots with the TECNO’s HiOS 6.1 skin based on Android 10 OS.

This is how the back of the TECNO phone looks like. There is a circular shaped fingerprint reader for unlocking and securing the device.

The rectangular-shaped camera module consists of four cameras. The 13MP f/1.8 main lens with PDAF, a 2MP macro lens, a 2MP depth lens and a QVGA lens for low-light. Also inside the module is a quad-LED flash for illuminating dark environment during photo taking.

On the left-hand side of the phone is the SIM tray which houses two Nano-SIM and a microSD card. The tray pops out when you insert the SIM ejector pin in that tiny hole.

Turning to the right-hand side of the device, we have the volume up and down button and underneath is the power button used to power on the device.
